Three things to check: (1) your Ring Protect Plan is active, (2) the camera you expect wildlife from is outdoor and enabled in YardWild Settings, (3) Ring is detecting motion at that camera. First sightings often take 24-48 hours.
Bird identification is intentionally out of scope โ it's covered well by dedicated apps like WhatsThatBird.AI. YardWild focuses on mammals, reptiles, and amphibians.
Privacy. Frames containing only humans are discarded by our pre-filter (MegaDetector) and never sent to our species ID model. We never name, count, or store images of people.
When the model's confidence is below 70%, we label the sighting at the family level (e.g. "Cervidae" instead of "White-tailed Deer") and prefix with "Possible". You can confirm or correct on the sighting detail page; this helps us improve.
Your timeline of past sightings stays accessible. New motion events won't be classified until the next calendar month, or you can upgrade to Premium ($5/month, unlimited) from the YardWild Settings page or Ring app.
Open the YardWild dashboard or mobile app โ Settings โ "Request account deletion". Or disable YardWild from inside the Ring app. Or email privacy@yardwild.erbacciltd.com. All deletions complete within 24 hours.
