Three things to check: (1) YardWild is active in the Ring app (Menu → My Apps → YardWild), together with the Ring plan Ring requires for any Ring Appstore app, (2) the camera you expect wildlife from is outdoor and enabled in YardWild Settings, (3) Ring is detecting motion at that camera. First sightings often take 24-48 hours.
Before 22 September 2026, birds are not identified. From that date YardWild identifies birds alongside other backyard wildlife.
Privacy. People are never identified: YardWild never names, counts, recognises or describes anyone. From 22 September 2026 YardWild may keep a frame and identify the wildlife in it even when a person appears in the background, as that release is certified and rolled out; until then such a frame is discarded. Identification runs on GPU hardware we operate. AWS Bedrock (Anthropic Claude) identifies or confirms the species when a person appears in the frame and whenever the animal is a bird, and AWS is also the fallback when our hardware is unavailable or returns an answer we cannot use. Privacy zones set on the camera are masked on every copy we process and on the copy we store.
It means we identified the animal's group but not the exact species — for example "Squirrel (species uncertain)". On the sighting page you can tell us whether we got it right.
YardWild is a third-party app on the Ring Appstore with its own plan, managed entirely by Ring. You add it, manage it and cancel it in the Ring app (Menu → My Apps → YardWild) or at account.ring.com/account/integrations; your plan and its terms appear there. The YardWild dashboard and mobile app do not change plans.
In the YardWild web dashboard, open Settings → "Delete account & all data". In the mobile app, open Settings → "Delete account and all data". Or disable YardWild from inside the Ring app. Or email info@erbacciltd.com. All deletions complete within 24 hours.
Yes — in the YardWild web dashboard, open Settings → "Export sightings (CSV)" → "Export"; in the mobile app, Settings → "Export sightings as CSV". The file lists every sighting with its timestamp, camera, species, confidence and thumbnail URL.
